Professional Experience
Principal or partner in architectural firms 1963 through 2000. In 2000 I was recruited by WRMS Engineering, worked primarily on power generation and telecommunications projects for three years. At age 71 I retired from WRMS to eliminate commuting and return to diversity. I am again in private practice.

Work has included every phase of architectural practice from programming, feasibility studies, design, and preparation of construction documents to administration of construction. Experience with wood, steel, concrete, masonry, piling foundations, tilt up, precast, pre and post tensioned structures. Project types include schools, banks, churches, offices, electric and telephone utilities, power generation and telecommunications facilities, shopping facilities, industrial buildings, warehouses, refrigerated storage, yacht moorages, single and multi-family housing, custom homes and others.

Experience with restoration and conversion of educational facilities and other structures. Performance specifications and evaluation of bidder designs. Unit price bidding. Fast tract construction using multiple contractors. Work requiring identification and correction of errors, omissions, or oversights in existing buildings; upgrading to meet seismic, life safety and disabled codes. Retrofit projects for energy conservation.
